Course Overview


Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport based on striking, grappling and ground fighting, incorporating techniques from various combat sports from around the world. This course will inform students on the basic, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) , self defence, striking techniques wrestling grips, Warm up/ Cool down and safety during combat sports training. How to define and maintenance of injuries, combat sports training, and basic first aid, fitting bandages and slings.

  • Balance , co-ordination and footwork
  • Grapling and Jiu - Jitsu submissions
  • Self massage and stretching for cool down

Injury Maintenance

  • Bandages and slings
  • Concussions
  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Fractures and Dislocations

Blurb

This course will increase student confidence and awareness by sharing experiences, and learning useful life skills, and improving general health. My name is Kyrylo, I am a qualified coach in combat sports such as 'MMA' and Boxing with over seven years experience and a former 'MMA' fighter, in which I hold two City champion titles, in amateur league. I have been practicing massage and manual therapist with work experience in medical centres. in addition, I have four years experience of working as fitness and boxing coach in Germany, TUI which is a 5 star hotel company, working and training adults and teens worldwide, and for the past year, since moving to live in Ireland, I have been working with TY students, in secondary schools all over Ireland , as an instructor, for Irish "School of excellence" driving programs, which is a national program. I am a FAR responder and I would like to share my knowledge to create a practical course "MMA "- defence and injury prevention" for TY students, which would be interactive, and a chance to participate in new skills.
